About Simsara Farm

Bred with love. Raised with purpose.

Simsara Farm is a self-sustainable, organic farm dedicated to raising specialty breeds of cattle and other livestock with exceptional genetics, and, just as importantly, beautiful temperaments.

We believe the best animals aren’t just “good on paper”. They’re calm, steady, and a joy to be around. The kind of animals that suit pets, breeding programmes, and animal-assisted therapy environments. That’s why temperament, handling, and long-term suitability sit right at the centre of how we farm.

What “organic” and “self-sustainable” means here

Here at Simsara farm we know that healthy soil and water is essential. Every year we strive to improve our pastures through soil testing, organic and mineral inputs and regular rotation of animals. We also produce nutrient rich compost which we put out on to our paddocks to ensure that the animals get all they need to thrive and achieve optimum health, free of toxic herbicides, pesticides, fungicides and heavy metals. We aim to work with the land, not against it, making thoughtful choices that support animal wellbeing, healthy pasture and a calmer, lower stress environment.

Why we do
what we do

Simon and Sara have always been passionate animal lovers, and they shared a clear dream: raise their children on a farm, living organically and as self-sustainably as possible. That dream became real in 2020, when they purchased a 100-acre farm in Gidgegannup, later expanding by purchasing the neighbouring property to double the farm’s size.

From the start, Simsara Farm has been built on careful research and intentional choices, especially when it comes to breeds.

Our cattle breeds (and why we chose them)

We’re proud to breed:

Quiet, calm, and naturally polled (no horns), with strong maternal instincts and excellent calving ease. Well-suited to lifestyle farms, with beautifully marbled meat.

Gentle, easy to handle, and a great fit for hobby farms, pets, or therapy settings thanks to their smaller size and calm nature. Calves are disbudded young where needed.

Arriving in early 2026, selectively bred for calm temperaments and long-term suitability for animal-assisted therapy (AAT) environments and family-friendly handling.

We also breed Lowline Angus, selected for their practicality as naturally polled cattle that are easy on the ground, efficient with feed, and produce excellent quality meat.

Other Animals

Alongside our specialty cattle, Simsara Farm is home to friendly donkeys, sheep, lambs, and poultry, all raised organically with care and compassion.

More then cattle

Simsara Farm is home to a range of livestock including pigs, sheep, donkeys, horses, and a variety of fowl — all part of building a diverse, thriving farm system.

Registered breeding, done properly

We take breeding seriously. Our cattle are registered, and we’re intentional about genetics, temperament, and herd improvement. Buyers can have confidence in the animal’s background, suitability, and long-term potential.
