Our herd of miniature white Galloways finally arrived on the farm on the 26th of March this year. It had been a long wait!
We purchased the herd back in December 2025 from Suzanne and Pam at the amazing Gold Creek Galloway stud in Braidwood NSW.
We approached Suzanne at what would prove to be the perfect time. Unbeknownst to us Suzanne had just decided to retire from breeding her amazing miniature white Galloways and was preparing to advertise the herd on her website.
Suzanne’s cattle aren’t just any cattle. They are purebred, registered assisted therapy cows that are incredibly quiet and easy to handle, did I mention stunningly beautiful? The wait list is long, very long and it took a great deal of communication between Suzanne, Simon and I before Suzanne decided that Simsara Farm would be the new home for her beautiful Galloways.
After a few days of settling in on the farm we started to approach the herd, brush in hand. They were instantly curious and in no time started to approach us when we entered the paddock. In the month that they have been here they have had many visitors and are just so friendly to everyone. I have spent so much time sitting with the girls, brushing their fluffy white coats in the sun and receiving lots of sneaky side kisses.
They have such distinct personalities, they are the best therapy anyone could ask for. Three of the girls are in calf and we are expecting two new arrivals at the end of May. This will be Lucy’s first calf and the third for Jaffa. Needless to say we are beyond excited!
